This thought struck me, on my Sunday wanderings, as I meandered my way through woodlands, soaking up the autumnal beauty around me.
I remembered a day last year, when I was walking back to work after my lunch break, and a perfect stranger said to me that I was walking with such purpose. I was! I was heading back to School to yard duty. It made me think, how often do we, ‘walk without purpose’ in our busy lives?
On Sunday, I did just this, and as I did, I heard a ‘trill’ after ‘trill’, which belonged to the little long tailed tits above me, dancing a graceful ballet of nature's whims in the trees.
Then, to my delight, in front of me, I noticed the Goldcrests, a tiny gem, hiding in the foliage's embrace. As I pointed my camera, a kestrel flew towards me and perched in a tree above, watching the same birds as me, as rabbits darted across the path I was stood on.
Nature came to me while I meandered, patiently and effortlessly.
Walking without purpose allows us to embrace the beauty of serendipity, appreciating the subtle wonders of nature and unexpected moments of connection with the world around us.
It's a reminder to slow down and let the journey guide us, opening our senses to the delightful surprises along the way. To cherish the journey and find joy in the unpredictability of its path.
Try it......to walk, without purpose.
